Helen Louise (Richards) Washburn, 87, of Shawnee passed from this life on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
Helen was born in Watonga, Oklahoma on June 26, 1931 to Claud Richards and Ada B (Golden) Richards.
She grew up in the Shawnee Lake area and graduated from Dale High School.
Helen and Charlie Cle Washburn married on August 21, 1948. They were married over 70 years and lived as residents of Bethel Acres.
She was an active member of the Church of God (Seventh Day).
Helen was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed painting and sewing in her spare time, and lived a very full life. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all.
She was preceded by her parents; brothers, Robert Richards, Ed Richards, and N.H. Richards; sisters, Marie Lane, Ola Childers and Jean Long.
Helen is survived by her husband, Charlie of the home; son and daughter in law, Keith and Vicki Washburn of Shawnee; daughter and son in law, Reta Jean and Ricci Head of Shawnee; son and daughter in law, Kent and Melanie Washburn of Choctaw; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be Monday, February 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ruben Marquez and son-in-law Ricci Head officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
