Dane Arthur Ross

ross-d-a

February 04, 1944 ~ July 22, 2021

McLoud - Dane Arthur Ross was born on February 4, 1944 to Eula (Coleman) and George L. Ross in McLoud, Oklahoma. He was a McLoud High School graduate, and on May 25th, 1965 he was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country as a mechanic in Vietnam.

When he was honorably discharged from the Army he returned to his home town of McLoud, Oklahoma.

Dane worked at many things in his lifetime from Fred Jones, to welding on power plants, to construction. He believed that hard work was a man's integrity. He always said, that when he and Sheila started driving a truck it was the best job that they ever had. Together they had many adventures and logged over a million miles on the "Blue Monkey".

When he lost Sheila while they were driving the truck, he made the decision to retire.

Although, Dane was surrounded by his family and friends, nothing could fill the void when the love of his life was taken from him to soon. He now rests by her side.

He will be remembered by his big laugh, his crazy sense of humor, and his willingness to talk to you no matter the time of day or night. Dane will be missed more than words can say. We have to rest in the thoughts that he and his soulmate, Sheila are now together.

He was a Brother to many, and a friend to all.

Dane was preceded in death by his Parents; Eula and George Ross, brother Don Ross and his beloved Sheila Kay Ross.

Dane leaves behind, his sister and brother-in-law Georgia and Jim Hinshaw of Arizona; Son and his wife, Daniel and Candis Ross and granddaughter Hallee of Harrah, OK; Son George and his wife, Susan Ross and grandson Logan of Sparks, OK.

Sisters-in-law JoElla Nolen, of McLoud; Karla and husband Danny Bryce of McLoud; and Barbara Ross of McLoud.

Brother-Friend and wife Freddie and Tassey Beeson

And all of his Nieces and Nephew's that he and Sheila both adored.

Services will be held Thursday July 29th at 10:00 am at Walker Funeral Home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Internment at Dale Cemetery.
