Brett Michael McKown

December 20, 1955 ~ May 27, 2020

Brett Michael McKown, 64, passed away on May 27th, 2020 in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was born December 20, 1955 in Newport, RI to Roland Ray McKown and Linda F. Almeida. Brett McKown retired from Brett Backhoe Service LLC in Piedmont Oklahoma, that he proudly operated with his father, Roland “Buck” McKown for 14 years. He was devoted to his family and loved spending the holidays, birthdays, and special occasions with each of them. Brett enjoyed coin collecting and watching movies with his father and sister.

The neighborhood watchman late in his life, he was known to chat with neighbors as he sat watch in his rocking chair, soaking up the sun and seasonal breeze and working in the yard. His favorite cousin, Stormy, and he share a lot of fond memories growing up and as adults loved to go fishing.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Ray McKown and his mother, Linda F. McKown. Survivors include his father, Roland R. McKown; his sister, Shawn Lynne McKown-Wyer; sons, Andrew Clemens, Joshua McKown; daughter, Angelique McKown; two nieces, Nichole Renee McKown and Mindy Marie McKown-Wyer; cousin, Stormy McKown; and his sidekick and family dog, Chevy. Many plumbers and great friends around Oklahoma shall greatly miss his leadership and laughter.

He will be laid to rest at Cummings Cemetery, Maud, Oklahoma with a private memorial and service. Friends are encouraged to stop by and see his father Roland “Buck” McKown to pay their respects at his home.
