Billie Gene Squire

On July 12, 2022, Billie Gene Squire of Shawnee, our beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed on to be with our Lord.

Billie was born in Shawnee, OK to William and Darby Squire on April 22, 1958, and was a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

He went to Earlsboro High School and graduated in 1977. He lived in Shawnee his entire adult life. He always made time for his family, friends, and neighbors and was known as Bill by so many people. He enjoyed cooking and family gatherings, especially during the holidays. He also enjoyed watching baseball games and his western movies.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Darby Squire; and brothers, Carl and John Squire.

Billie is survived by his sons, Tony Squire, and wife Becky of McLoud, Jimmy Squire of Tecumseh, and Nathan Squire of Tecumseh; and daughter, Tambi Phelps, and husband Aaron of Shawnee; his sister, Sharon Harjo of Shawnee; brother, Thomas Harjo of Sapulpa, brother, Sammy Harjo of Norman; sister, Rania Mauldin of McLoud; and uncle Jerry Squire of Sapulpa. His grandchildren include, Michael, Andrew, Stephen, Scott, James and Autumn. He also had many nieces and nephews to include, Brittany, Victor Jr (Junior), Nick, Lauresa, Tricia, Robin, Burton, Stathan, Benjamin, Sheila, Jeanette, Jacklyn, and Timothy.

The wake will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Horseshoe Bend in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Squire-Clark Family Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Reverend Victor Cope officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
