Anita Earline Dinsmore Trosper, 74, of Shawnee, passed away on April 8, 2016 in Shawnee. She was born June 11, 1941 in Drumright, Oklahoma.

Anita was raised by Leonard William “Bill” Johnson, Sr. and Lorene Morefield Johnson in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1959 from Shawnee High School.

Anita married John Lee Trosper on September 6, 1960 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Anita loved karaoke and was considered to be a domestic goddess. Her passion in life was her family. She loved being a mom, grandmother and a great-grandmother. But most of all, she loved being a wife to John. She always had a smile for everyone that entered her home and no one ever left her house without feeling important.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Leonard William Johnson, Jr.

Anita is survived by her husband, John Lee Trosper, Sr. of the home; daughters, Melissa Lyn Trosper of Shawnee, Laura Dianne Bowman of Prague and Gloria Starr Trosper of Shawnee; son, John Lee Trosper, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jenny Hale, Megan O’Donnell, Caitlyn Marquis, Jacqueline Marquis, Cole Trosper, Cade Trosper and Cali Trosper; four great-grandchildren, Tristan Hartley, Aiden O’Donnell, Bethani Marquis and Cason Marquis; and other extended family and friends.

The family has designated the American Cancer Society as appropriate for memorials and request donations be made to www.gofundme.com/anitatrosper in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home and from 5:00 p.m. until service time at St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Wake service will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Deacon David Schrup officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee with Father Joseph Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
