Zorrena V. Newnam, 80, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Del City.
She was born August 8, 1939 to Lester Thomas and Ruth Zingra (Dooley) Watson in Moore, Oklahoma.
Zorrena was raised north of Meeker, Oklahoma in the Payson community. She lived north of Shawnee on the family farm for the last 35 plus years.
She married Marion Lee Newnam on November 8, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1989.
Zorrena was a member of St. Paul’s The Apostle Catholic Church in Del City. Zorrena enjoyed power shopping, sewing, baking, cooking large family meals and caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Newnam; daughter, Connie Newnam Woodward; and her parents, Lester and Ruth Watson; siblings, Grace, Bob, Ernie, Veda, Troy and Eldea.
Survivors include 4 daughters and 4 sons-in-law, Deborah Nossaman and Rodney Wood of Oklahoma City, OK, Dr. Beverly and Harry Fritzler of Norman, OK, Dr. Cindy Newnam and Paul Cotter of Shawnee, OK, Brenda Newnam and Jeff York of Shawnee, OK and Robert Woodward of Shawnee, OK; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Deva Moore of Meeker, OK; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Felix I. Garcia, Independent Church of Christ, Oklahoma City officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
