Regina Cecelia Duggan was born to David L. and Cecelia M. (Nowakowski) Duggan on September 6, 1950, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Regina departed this life on Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 66.
Regina attended St. Benedict’s Grade School from 1956 to 1964, then attended Shawnee Jr. High and High School from 1964 to 1966, before the family moved to Prague in May 1966. She then attended Prague High School, where she graduated in May 1968. She then attended East Central State College, in Ada, for four years and graduated in May 1972 with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. In December 1972, Regina moved back to Shawnee and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, as an operator, for two years, then as a service representative. When the business office closed in Shawnee, in 1983, she moved back to Prague to help her parents on the Duggan Homestead. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church as well as a member of their Women’s Guild.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Duggan, grandparents, Isaac and Cora Belle (Lusk) Duggan and Andrew and Mary (Jorksi) Nowakowski, as well as eight uncles, nine aunts and numerous cousins.
Regina is survived by nephews, Donald Duggan Jr. and wife, Angela, of Owasso, Edward Dean and wife, Angelia, of Stilwell, and Chris and wife, Angela Duggan of Prague, as well as great nieces and nephews, an uncle, Leo Nowakowski, of Harrah and numerous cousins and friends.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague with Father Long Phan officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s or the charity of your choice. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
