FRANKIE BLAND

April 07, 1937 - April 19, 2018

Frankie Bland, 81, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home.

She was born April 7, 1937 to Lon and Alma Dickenson in Johnson, Oklahoma.

Frankie was a graduate of Earlsboro High School. She has lived in Tecumseh since 1958.

She married George Bland on April 1, 1967 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Frankie worked at the Sylvania Plant in Shawnee and as a veterinarian assistant until she married.

She has been a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church since 1967. Frankie was very active in the church and enjoyed serving on many committees. She was a 4-H Leader, Boy Scout Leader and helped George coach Little League Baseball. Frankie was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales. She a big heart and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony Pecore, Sr.; her son, Anthony “Tony” Pecore, Jr.; her parents, Lon and Alma Dickenson; 2 brothers, Vernon Dickenson, Lonnie Gene Dickenson; 6 sisters, Maurine Hale, Jessie Hunton, Lena Fay Washington, Bessie Melton, Ruth Goodnight and Alene Vasquez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 51 years, George Bland of the home; 1 son and 2 daughters-in-law, Robert and Lori Pecore of Conroe, TX and Michelle Pecore of Tecumseh, OK; daughter, Shannon Sisson of Shawnee, OK; 2 grandsons, Chad Pecore and Jared Pecore; 4 granddaughters, Stacey and Kyle Bennett, Candance Chisolmn, Madison Plunkett and Karla Snow; 5 great-great grandchildren, Kolton Yeager, Ryle Bennett, Blazee Bennett, Kai Plunkett and Cade Snow; 1 sister, Myrtle Hood; 4 sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law, Delia and Julian Zientek, Mary Alice New, Cathrine Oglesby and Peggy Pecore all of Shawnee, OK; numerous nieces, nephew and other loving extended family and friends.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to St. Benedict Catholic Church or St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 and continue through service time. Family gathering to meet with friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee with Reverend Balaswamy Mandagiri of St. Benedict Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
