Raymond Hargus Riley, 100 years of age, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Raymond “Ray” Riley was a long time resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and moved several years ago to Bethany, OK. At the time of his death he was a resident at the Clinton Veteran Center where he had lived since September, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Dean Riley who died in 2001.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jana Bardach, Indiana and Rae Dene Terry, Florida; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother, William Earnest Riley, San Diego, CA; and sister, Mary Schmitt, Bakersfield, CA.
Riley was a meteorologist in the Air Force until his retirement in 1974. He proudly served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He enjoyed cars, traveling, meeting people and watching the Cumulus Clouds. Ray was a member of the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge No. 69. Brother Raymond H. Riley was initiated an Entered Apprentice on May 12, 1976, passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on June 10, 1976, and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on July 15, 1976 at Tecumseh Masonic Lodge No. 69. He served the lodge as Worshipful Master in 1982. He was a perpetual member of Tecumseh Masonic Lodge since 1991. Brother Riley was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of McAlester Scottish Rite Consistory since 1971. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 and continue until service time. Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Brown Cemetery with Reverend Will Bentley officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
