William T. “Bill” Mitchell, 75, of Pink, Oklahoma passed from this life Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home.
He was born April 15, 1943 to Theron and Rudell (Thomas) Mitchell in Rella, Kentucky.
Bill was raised in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from West End High School.
He married his high school sweetheart right after graduation, Patricia Ann Davis on June 7, 1961 in Birmingham, Alabama. They lived in Houston, Texas until moving to the Pink area in 1980 where they have lived since.
Bill joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged.
He was a welder with Exxon Mobil until his retirement in 2007.
Bill dedicated his life to God and was a very active member of Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh. He enjoyed camping, fishing and 4-wheeling. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandmother, Ruby Lorraine Knopp.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia A. Mitchell of the home; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Bill and Thresa Mitchell, Jr. of Choctaw, OK and Tony Mitchell of Tecumseh, OK; 2 grandchildren, Jeremy Deathridge and wife Charlyn and Kaylee Thompson; 2 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Deathridge, Jr. and Kate Lynn Deathridge; 2 sisters, Carolyn Weaver of St Osyth, England and Sue and Rick Monroe of Texas; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 and continue through service time. Family gathering will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh with Erick Henson and Eddy Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
