Thelda Joy Copeland Butler

butler-tj

March 9, 1935 _ April 13, 2022

There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Thelda Joy (Copeland) Butler, was our family’s guiding light. She passed from this life into the next life to be with our Lord on April 13, 2022 at the age of 87.

She touched many lives with her kindness, her warm heart, and her love. She was an accomplished woman with many gifts and talents, who was loved by all.

Thelda Joy was a dedicated nurse for over 55 years achieving her RN and BSN from OBU in 1979, while working full-time and raising her family.

She is survived by her three children; Joy Butler Kimbrell, Robert Butler and wife Joyce, and William Butler and wife Misti; seven grandsons; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Welton Copeland; one sister, Sue Hall; and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey “Monk” Butler; and grandson, Jeremy King.

Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Tecumseh First Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. All are welcome to come and celebrate our Mother’s life.
