Shawnee resident Ted Pinkston, 65, died Saturday, Sept. 18, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Feb. 16, 1939, in Shawnee to Lavelle and Carrie Pinkston. He graduated from Bethel High School.
He worked as a pipeline operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 627 and the Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lee Pinkston and Noel Pinkston; two sisters, Ruth Nelson and Mae Bonner.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Julie Pinkston of Oklahoma City; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Carl Marlow of Durant, Shelly and Raymond Pollard of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren, Trevor, Jada and Trey Pinkston, Dalton Rodriquez, Dustin, Kody and Skylar Pollard; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Mary Pinkston of Shawnee, Layton and Helen Pinkston of Shawnee; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal and Jim Ross of Liberty, Kan.; Minnie and Bob Landis of Hoisington, Kan.; Josephine and Bill Leister of Meeker; Emma and Don Farris of Cartersville, Ga.; Erma and John Keener of Mena, Ark.; Martha Ross of Harrah, and many other relatives.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. John Mixon officiating. Burial will be at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery.
Walker Funeral Service is directing arrangements.
