Elizabeth “Ann” Thompson, 81, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at her home.
She was born March 26, 1938 to Burl and Linnie (Robinson) Dunbar in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Ann was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools.
She married Thomas Thompson on July 2, 1955 in Gainesville, Texas and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1986.
Ann was a homemaker for most of her adult life and worked outside the home for James Sausage Company, and operated Ann’s Bridal and Formal, and worked in home health care before she retired.
She enjoyed quilting, flowers, going on foliage trips, bowling, dancing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Thompson; her parents, Burl and Linnie Dunbar; 3 sisters, Ruby Waldrop, Frances Casteel and Eddie Peniston; 2 brothers, Glen “Pete” Dunbar and Larsh Dunbar.
Those left to cherish her memory are 1 daughter and 1 son-in-law, Shirley and Don Ellis of Tecumseh, OK, 2 sons, Thomas and Jenny Thompson of Tecumseh, OK and Jeff and Angie Thompson of Tecumseh, OK; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
