Services for Charlotte Ann Welch Oxford, 87, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. Revs. David Daniel and Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Oxford passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Denison, TX. She was born July 17, 1928 in Elmore City to Ira and Eureka Thornton Welch. She graduated from Elmore City High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Central University.

She married John Oxford December 26, 1948 in Ada. He preceded her in death January 24, 2002. Mrs. Oxford taught at Hayes Elementary School and the First United Methodist Church Pre-school. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the History Department of the Tanti Study Club and the Wednesday Morning Music Club.

Survivors include daughters, Melissa Oxford of Ada and Melinda Boyd and husband Michael of Tishomingo; a son, Danny Oxford and wife Darlene of Eufaula; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Welch and wife Linda of Mustang.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Oxford; two sisters; and three brothers.
