Services for Martha Ann “Dimples” Benson Walden, 87, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Rev. Erin Warde will officiate. Entombment will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Walden passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at a local nursing home. She was born March 7, 1931 at Jefferson, TX to James and Fannie Page Benson.Dimples moved to Pauls Valley in 1950 where she was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone as a telephone operator. There she met and married Elroy F. Walden in 1952. They had one daughter LaDona.
She moved to Ada in 1956. In 1962, she owned and operated Dimples Style Shop. She retired in 1970 and became more active in her church. She was a 50 year member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where she was active for many years. She served on the Altar Guild.
Survivors include her daughter, LaDona Hill and her husband Carlyle of Ada; four grandchildren, Ryan Rhoads of Little Rock, AR, Bryce Rhoads and wife Joani of Oklahoma City, Lyndsey Rhoads of Chicago, IL and Cody Hill of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren, Hope Rhoads, Maverick Rhoads and Julia Patel, all of Oklahoma City, and Kennedi Rhoads of Little Rock, AR; a brother-in-law, Bill Walden and wife Thellys of Tulsa; and many others that she loved dearly.
