Services for John M. Skibsted, 66, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Vicar Jason Steffenson will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Skibsted died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born December 11, 1951 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Thornton and Orlean Bruns Skibsted.

He married Karen Sachs on March 14, 1998. Mr. Skibsted graduated from Iowa State University with a business and accounting degree. He was employed with Lafarge-Holcim as a Comptroller. He also farmed, enjoyed golfing and the St. Louis Cardinal’s. Mr. Skibsted was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of the home; two daughters, Jamie Herrera and husband Norman of Oklahoma City and Heather Reed and husband Tyler of Ada; a son, Andy Kimbrell and wife Marla of Ada; two brothers, Dave Stibsted and wife Connie of Storm Lake, IA and Larry Skibsted of Smithville, MO; one sister, Jackie McWhirter and husband Dennis of Marquand, MO; grandchildren, Chelsey Temple and husband Ryan and daughter Katie of Ada, Drew Waterman of Owasso, Racen Reed of Ada, Riley Reed of Ada, Morgan, Jaden and Dakota Lankford of Ada; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bearers will be, Keith Buelow, Dan Zimmerman, Eddie Starks, Rama Kaliappen, Alex Wilson and Tyler Reed.
