Mrs. Simpson passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 in Oklahoma City. She was born October 8, 1958 in Ada, OK to Bob and Barbara Minor Langley. She graduated high school in Stonewall, OK and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from East Central University. She worked for Conoco-Phillips, where she met the love of her life, Danny Mark Simpson. They were married on January 24, 1981 and together they lived and traveled all over the world, experiencing new cultures, and building friends and connections wherever they went. On November 11, 1984 their daughter, Abigail (Abby), was born, beginning their greatest adventure. Rae Nell supported her family as a loving wife and mother and returned to Stonewall in 2019 to continue her family’s legacy of farming. She loved animals and deeply connected with her cows, cats, Mimi and Max, and dogs, Sadie, Scout, Ranger, and Lilly.
Rae Nell and Danny loved the Lord and served Him faithfully wherever they lived. Rae Nell served as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for more than ten years. Her prayer as a group leader was for the women she shepherded to love the Lord more today than yesterday, knowing this was the work of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister GaeVon Jelosek, and in-laws Darrell and Faye Young Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter, Abby and partner, Lindsey Holman, of Austin; sister, LaVonda Jones, of Ada; sister-in-law, Tera Shuart and husband, Scott, of Edmond; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pallbearers are Cody Lee, Bill Spain, Scott Shuart, Hal Sliger, Chad King, and Cody Moore.
Honorary pallbearers are Gene Overturf, Jay Thompson, Josh Thompson, Jacob Shuart, Dale Zachary, and Bill Saint.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Red Collar Rescue, Deaconess Pregnancy and Adoption (DPA), or the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
