Graveside services for Odette Maria Rogers, 94, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Swan Hill Cemetery, Father Billy Lewis will officiate.

Mrs. Rogers passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Vitas Hospice Unit, Baylor Medical, Carrollton, TX. She was born April 7, 1923 in Paris, France to Marius Richard and Maria Bazetoux Vernet.

She married J. Calvin Rogers March 31, 1947 in Stuttgart, Germany. He preceded her in death in 1989 in Ada. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers moved to Ft. Smith, AR and later to Ada after the Korean War. She owned Lori Dawn’s Tots & Teens for 15 years and was co-owner of Roger’s OK Furniture with her husband. Odette was of the Roman Catholic faith and known for her wonderful cooking abilities and was called on for years to help with the local church smorgasboard. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors by daughter, Suzanne Rogers-Bailey and her husband Bob of Durant; son, David Rogers of Lavon, TX; two grandsons, Chris Ely of Ada, and Matt Bailey and wife Melissa of Dallas, TX; two granddaughters, Lori Dawn Ely of Ada, and Tara Jenson and husband Michael of Calera, OK; seven great-grandchildren, Brittney Miller of Caddo, OK, Hayden Bailey of Calera, OK, Carter Miller of Ada, Jasiah Bailey-Brown of Calera, OK, Shaylynne Ely of Ada, Henley Jensen of Calera, OK, and Scarlett Jensen of Calera, OK; one niece, and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Calvin Rogers, and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Miller and Zachary Miller.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105; the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, OK 73104-5097 or any worthwhile animal charity of choice. The family would like to thank the Staff of Legend Oaks Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility in Garland, TX and also the compassionate care of the Staff at Vitas Hospice Unit.
