Services for Vera Mae Pettigrew, 74, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home, the Rev. Arthur Carpitcher and Ms. Vickie Pettigrew will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery .
Ms. Pettigrew died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at her home. She was born March 9, 1934, at Fittstown to Arch McCannon and Bertha Ann Lewis Pettigrew.
She lived in this area all her life and attended Fittstown and Ada schools. Ms. Pettigrew worked as a cook and home health provider. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include five daughters, Linda Bryant and husband Carl, Latta, Debra McNeal and husband Don, Homer, Teresa McCullar, Ada, Karen Holland and husband Rick, Ada, and Raven Pettigrew, of the home; one son, Carl Odom, Ada; a grandson whom she raised, Vallis McCullar and wife Kelli, Ada; three brothers, Wendell Pettigrew and wife Vicki, Ada; Jack Pettigrew and wife Sue, Ada; and Leland Pettigrew and wife Ina, Ada; five sisters, Marie Titsworth, Ada; Jeanne Wilmoth and husband Jerry, Ada; Shirley Laughlin, Ada; Terry Davis and husband Gary Jones, Ada; and Connie Martin and husband Wayne, Blanchard; grandchildren, Michael Tatum and wife Shawnna, Oakman ; Michael Rice, Lexington; Shawn McNeal and wife Sarica, Norman; Aaron McNeal and wife Krystal, Pawnee; Mesha McNeal, Ada; Andrea Rohla and husband Charles, Roff; Michelle Marquette, Ada; and Ariel Snodgrass, Ada; great-grandchildren, Maleha, Michael and Nicholas Tatum and Amberly Burgess, all of Oakman ; Alyssa and Blake McCullar, Ada; Jamie Graham and Mariah Marquette, Ada; Essence and Tre'ven Hopkins, Ada; one aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.
Bearers are Stephen Davis, Matthew Pettigrew, Eric Young, Jake Laughlin, Josh Laughlin and Jackie Lyda. Honorary bearers are Chip Boucher, Alvin Boucher, Jimmy Crewse, Jamie Gore and Gary Simmons.
