Services for Wyoma Julyne “Judy” Houchen, 73, of Eufaula, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Dustin Bishop will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Judy was born in Ada, Oklahoma on May 19, 1947 to Reverend J. Hoot Houchen and Ethelyne Tatum Houchen. She attended school at Latta. Judy and her siblings, Punch, Shirley, Claire, and Debbie grew up in Portland Park in Ada.

In 1963, she married James Timothy Goodwin and from that union two children were born. In 1964, they welcomed their daughter, Doyalyne, and in 1965, their son Mark.

In 1969, they moved to Sherman, Texas. In the summer of 1972, they then moved to Seminole where she met her second husband, Don Lam. From that union, she gained a daughter, Kimberly and a son, Kenny. In 1978, they moved to Eufaula. She was a supervisor at the Eufaula Sewing Factory. Judy was a passionate Eufaula Ironhead Football fan for her sons, Mark and Kenny. She was a member of Vivian Baptist Church.

They relocated to Maud in 1984 where Judy worked at Maud Schools in the cafeteria. She was a member of Maud First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. Judy also became a very avid Maud Tigers football fan.

In 1997, Judy moved back to her hometown of Ada where she worked at New Horizon’s Unlimited as a job coach. After that, she worked for Prepaid Legal until her retirement. Thereafter, she moved to Eufaula where she enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events.

Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, enjoying the lake, and traveling.

On March 23, 2021, she arrived at Heaven’s door. Loved ones who greeted her there were: her mother and father, her only brother, Punch Houchen, her sisters, Debbie Houchen and Clare Bishop, her niece, Davia Fritcher, her two nephews, Ray Creech and Scotty Houchen.

Those she left behind are: Sister Shirley Phillips-Sanders and her husband Mark, daughter Doyalyne Vandivort and husband Tim, son Mark Goodwin and wife Diana, daughter Kimberly Jennings and husband Keith, son Kenny Lam, and grandchildren Leonda Gibson, Kurtis Gibson and wife Nicole, Shane Floyd, and Cody Floyd. Rachel Goodwin, Kelsey Criner and husband Kamiron, Anna Jones, K.P., D.J. and, R.T. Lam, and 14 great grandchildren.

Bearers will be Kurtis Gibson, Mark Goodwin, Dustin Bishop, Michael Lawrence, Kenny Lam, Doyalyne Vandivort, Shirley Sanders, Jake Houchen, Kelsey Criner, Leonda Gibson and Cody Floyd.

Judy’s final resting place is Swan Hill in Ada, Oklahoma next to her daddy Hoot Houchen.
