Services for Billy "Bill" L. Hensley of Ada, Oklahoma, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at the Southwest Church of Christ, Ada, OK. Mr. Floyd Kaiser officiating, assisted by Mr. Bill Adams, and Mr. Mike Hensley also speaking. Interment will be at Swan Hill Cemetery in Ada, OK.
Mr. Hensley died Friday, December 24, 2004 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX at the age of 68. He was born April 26, 1936, in Eula, AR to Willard Thurman Hensley and Corine Dickey Hensley. He married Judith Lynn Bavis on September 7, 1962 in Santa Maria, CA. Mrs. Judith Hensley passed from this life on January 24, 2001. He remarried Dona Jo Creech on August 2, 2003 in Ada, OK.
Mr. Hensley graduated from Checotah High School in Checotah, OK in 1954. He attended East Central University in Ada, OK and received a Degree in Chemistry. He worked at Holnam Cement Plant in Ada, OK as a chemist, he retired in 1998, after 28 years of service. He and his family moved to Ada, OK in 1970 from Henryetta, OK. He also was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, OK. He served in the Army Reserves on Active Duty from July 1958 to December 1958. He was an expert at playing cards and enjoyed doing so with his friends and family, another favorite active of his was to watch his children's and grandchildren's sports activities.
Mr. Hensley is survived by his wife: Dona Hensley, of the home, four sons: Mike Hensley and daughter-in-law Marci of Lawrence, KS, Tim Hensley and daughter-in-law De'Ambra of Ada, OK, Steve Hensley and daughter-in-law Brandy of Ada, OK, and Jon Hensley of Ada, OK, one daughter: Marcie Ellenberg and son-in-law Paul of Ada, OK, a step-daughter: Dana Chilcoat and son-in-law Greg of Ada, OK, one brother: Kent Hensley of Oklahoma City, OK, and nine grandchildren.
