Services for Betty Jean (Hammond) Foster, 93, of Ada, formerly of Chickasha are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Cary Gerth will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Foster died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at her home. She was born December 27, 1928 in Ada to Graves and Elsie Perkins Hammond.

She married John E. Foster. Betty worked at the Atlas/Brockway Glass Plant in Ada when she was 16 years old, and later she worked at Sentry Manufacturing in Chickasha for 20 years.

She also played softball on Sentry’s team about 12 years, she was 55 when she quit. She also bowled on Sentry’s bowling team for around 10 years. Mrs. Foster also worked at Grady Memorial Hospital in the Radiology Department for 5 years before retiring to their farm east of Chickasha.

Betty moved back to Ada after the death of her husband in 2004. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law until she passed. Kindful Hospice was such a blessing in their care for her.

Betty gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ when she was around 10 years old. She loved the Lord! She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother! She always had a Christian home and she was an exceptional cook and was loved by many!

Survivors include her son, Kent Foster and wife Teresa of Chickasha; her daughter, LaDonna Hurley and husband James Hurley of Stratford; four grandchildren, Garrett Foster, Andrew Foster, Rebekah Hurley Payne and Chad Hurley; nine great-grandchildren, Emmerson Foster, Creed Foster, Sloane Kate Foster, Maddox Foster, Kennedy Foster, Sage Payne, Mesa Payne, Jayce Payne and Ayla Ann Hurley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Foster; father, Graves Hammond; mother, Elsie Hammond; sister, Joyce Fatheree; brother, Mike Hammond; and sister, Linda Buffington.

Bearers will be Kent Foster, Garrett Foster, Andrew Foster, Chad Hurley, Brent Dempsey and Avery Foster.
