Services for Johnny Monroe Floyd, 80, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Brian Smith will officiate. Committal will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Floyd died Friday, January 11, 2019 at a local hospital. He was born August 29, 1938 in Yeager, southeast of Holdenville, to Burley Daniel “Jeff” and Pearlie Hazel McGuire Floyd. He graduated from Holdenville High School in 1957.
He married Rita Jo Moore June 29, 1957. He was an original employee of Citizens Bank from 1967 until 1999, where he retired as Assistant Vice President. He was well known in the community, well liked and never met a stranger. He enjoyed camping and trout fishing at Roaring River, watching the grandkids play sports through the years, loved baseball and being outdoors and working in the yard. He was an active member of the Gideons, longtime member of Kiwanis Club of Ada, and an active member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Rita, of the home; a daughter, Denise Stroud and husband Terry; a son, Mark Floyd and wife Devin; and four grandchildren, Adam Stroud, Daniel Stroud, Drew Floyd and Hayley Haynes.
Bearers will be his four grandchildren, Trent Briggs and Fred Allen.
