Charley Everett Bryant went to Heaven, Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He was born June 6, 1948 to Raymond and Julia Oleta Bryant in Ada, Oklahoma. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home. Burial will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at Swan Hill Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
He grew up in the Latta area where he finished high school. He married Irene Hollowell on September 24, 1966. As a young man he worked for his uncle Everett Reeves at Reeves Packing Company. In 1970 he and family moved to Ardmore for five years where he and friend Ty Lewis started a Ford tractor business. In 1975 he moved back to Ada and back to Reeves Packing Company and the oil field for a couple of years until he went to work for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation where he worked until he retired as Shop Superintendent in 2010 after 26 years.
Charley was an avid bass fisherman most of his adult life and spent most of his weekends at Lake Texoma with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene; daughter, Sherri West and husband Justin; grandson, Tyler West; granddaughter, Brittany West; and special great-granddaughter, Brynlee Gomez.
Charley lost his son, Michael Bryant, in 2005. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Wayne and Steven; sister, Julia and numerous other friends and relatives.
The family requests memorials be made to Ada Relay for life in memory of Mike Bryant, c/o Citizens Bank of Ada.
