Services for Doris Naomi Sessums Brooks, 91, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Ada. Revs. Steve Wilburn, John Haynes and Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Brooks passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Ada Care Center. She was born September 7, 1924 in Eldorado (Jackson County), Oklahoma to Aaron Cecil and Georgia Deron Williams Sessums. She attended school at Lincoln and attended Western Oklahoma State College in Altus.

She married Quinton Story Brooks August 16, 1943. He preceded her in death February 28, 1989. Mrs. Brooks moved to Ada in 1995 from Paden, OK. She was a homemaker and an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mature Melody Makers, senior adult choir and was active in her Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brooks had been a longtime member of the Valley View Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla Little and her husband Larry of Fitzhugh and Lisa Roberts of Ada; a son, Terry Brooks and wife Linda of Lindsay; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Brooks of Moore; one sister, Joy June Mitchell of Arlington, TX; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Cecil Lee Brooks.

Bearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Ada First Baptist Church Building Fund, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820; the Lindsay First Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 SW 3rd, Lindsay, OK 73052; Fitzhugh First Baptist Church Building Fund, 21980 CR 3499, Fitzhugh, OK 74843; or the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 201 W. Main, Moore, OK 73160.
