Services for Edward Lee Beets, 74, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the New Beginnings Church in Stratford. Rev. Charles McGregor will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Beets died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born September 17, 1940 at Byars, Oklahoma to Ralph and Iness Moody Beets. He attended Byars and Asher schools. Mr. Beets was a Plant Manager for a magnesium plant in Snyder, Texas, later worked for J. P. Emco. He he was a truck driver and later, a Greeter at Wal-Mart. He served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Lowe and husband Kevin and Catherine Beets, all of Ada; two sisters, Jane Eddlemon and husband Bill of Slaughterville and Barbara Beets of Stratford; a brother, Charles Beets and wife Mary of Skiatook; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Harlin; two nephews, Alvin Austin and Richard Austin; and a niece, Vickie Summers.

Bearers will be Jonathan Groves, Calvin Parson, Chucky Beets, Terry Head, Robert Taylor, Lendon Wood, Douglas Dow and Kevin Lowe.
