Services for Mary Francis Barrett, 83, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Southwest Church of Christ, Brian Lewis and David Dirrim will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Barrett was born December 4, 1940 in the Oakman Community to Lester Lee and Pauline Estelle Eppler Lillard. On Friday, September 6, 2024 her earthly struggles ended and she gained her heavenly reward.
She married Billy Frank Barrett November 20, 1958 in Ada, Oklahoma. They were happily married over 65 years and were longtime members of the Southwest Church of Christ, where she served her church and community in a multitude of ways. They worked side by side at Homer Elementary for many years of their marriage.
Mrs. Barrett worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as a Personnel Director until her retirement. After her retirement, she took on her favorite position of Nana never missing a game, recital, concert, or school event. She always had time to sit at the kitchen table and beat you at a game of cards, no matter the age of her opponent. Her love of quilting was known throughout her community, and there were many babies that were wrapped in her love. She was an avid sports fan who wasn’t afraid to voice her opinion during a game.
Survivors include her husband, Billy, of the home; two sons, Richard Barrett and wife Joni and Brett Barrett and wife Gina; a daughter, Cindy Geiger and husband Darrell; five grandchildren, Clay and Trent Barrett, Savanah McClure and husband Tyler, Sydney Barrett and Raygn Tinsley and husband Mark; and four great-grandchildren, Ellie Barrett, Gracelynn McClure, Joleigh Tinsley and Rayah Tinsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Pauline Lillard; and brothers, Wayne Lillard and Stanley Lillard.
Bearers will be Clay Barrett, Trent Barrett, Mark Tinsley, Jeff Lillard, Ronny Johns and Scott Young. Honorary bearers are Tim Hensley, Trenton Hensley, Adam Hensley and Owen Hensley.
