Services for Aubrey J. Bain Sr., 89, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bain died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Ada. He was born September 11, 1920 at Peerless, Texas to Ellis M. and Beulah McCutchen Bain. He graduated from high school in Sulphur Springs, Texas and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Texas State Teacher’s College in Commerce, Texas.

He married Rose Nell Thompson on October 4, 1941. Mr. Bain was a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in the Sulphur Springs, Texas area. When he and his family moved to Ada in 1960, Mr. Bain sold text books for Lippincott Publishers and Houghton-Mifflin Company. He also ranched and raised black angus cattle. Mr. Bain was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Bain, of the home; a daughter, Lafton Walbrick and husband Hank, Ada; a son, Aubrey Bain Jr. and wife Jaci, Plano, TX; one sister, Ruby Reynolds, Sulphur Springs, TX; five grandchildren, Steve Bain, Stacy Junk and husband Bill, Cindy Becker, T. K. Fuller and husband Phillip, and Bo Walbrick; and five great grandchildren, Jordan Junk, Madison Junk, Aubrey Rose Junk, Anna Junk, and Kale Fuller.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ward in 2004, and seven brothers and sisters.
