Services for Wilma Sue Johnson, 65, of Wayne, OK will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Hazel Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow at Steedman Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Wilma passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 at her home in Wayne, OK. She was born April 23, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to McDonald and Naomi (Scott) Johnson.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Mitch Watan, of the home; one son, James Johnson; four brothers, Jarvis Johnson, Sr. of Bokchito, OK, Marvin Johnson Choctaw, OK, Samuel Johnson of Plano, TX and Richard Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; and one sister, Delvagene Laguna of Oklahoma City, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, McDonald and Naomi Johnson; her first husband, Melvin Johnson; son, Myron Johnson; niece, Peaches Johnson; nephew, Marvin Ray Johnson; and three brothers, Melvin Ray Johnson, Ulysses Johnson and Donald Johnson.
Wilma was homemaker raising two sons, a wife and care giver for her youngest son, a believer in Christ and was non-denominational. She loved to sew, do crossword puzzles in her free time, she enjoyed watching the The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Her specialty was making great fry bread and Indian Tacos.
Bearers will be Travis Johnson, Jarvis Jr. Johnson, Malachi Johnson, Emanuel Johnson, Chuba Davis and Mitchell Watan. Honorary bearers will be Randal Harjo and Derrick Samuels.
Wilma’s favorite song was “City of Gold”.
