Services for Gladys Johnson, 73, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Chickasaw Community Center, Rev. Randy Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at Steedman Cemetery. A wake will be held Sunday, January 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Johnson passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Chickasaw Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1948 in Ada, OK to Simon Thurman and Pauline Alexander Walker.
She married David Alden Johnson, January 26, 1967, in Ada, OK. Mrs. Johnson was a housekeeping Supervisor for the Chickasaw Nation and on Dec. 16, 2021 she accepted Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior.
Survivors are her husband David, of the home; two sons, Jerry Johnson and Fiancé, Erin, of Ada, and Kerry Johnson and wife, Tawahnah, of Ada; two daughters, Paula Caldwell and husband, Taylor, of Stonewall and Janice Johnson and husband, Derek, of Ada; four brothers, Herman Walker, of Ada, Virgil Walker, of Allen, Gary Walker and wife, Laverne, of Allen and Toni Walker and wife, Carolyn, of Mill Creek; three sisters, Rosie Postoak, of Allen, and Hazel Wallace, of Ada, sister/best friend Ensie Drumgo and husband Willie of Ada; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; her little dog Cocoa; and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Pauline Walker; two daughters, Rita Marie Rios and Sherry Kay Johnson; brother, Wordley Walker and sister, Sally Graham.
Bearers are Kerry Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Derek Tiger, Cameron Johnson, Taylor Caldwell and Derek Colungo. Honorary bearers are Khailen Johnson, Titus Johnson, Jalen Johnson, Jordan Tiger, Windell Alfred, Jr., Pedro Colungo and David Rios.
The family requests that masks be worn at the service to help prevent the spread of the COVID virus.
