Services for Wanda Marie Alexander, 75, Ada, 10 a.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, The Revs. Jeff Frazier and Sharron Meyers Officiating. Burial follows at Steedman Cemetery. Wake service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Chapel.
Mrs. Alexander died Monday, March 10, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born November 26, 1932, at Kulihoma to John H. Walker and Cecelia Johnson Walker.
She attended school at Kulihoma Grade School and Haskell High School. She was a certified nurse's aide and home health provider. She retired from Ballard Nursing Center in Ada. She was affiliated with Wanette Pentecostal Holliness Church.
She married Jim Alexander on August 24, 1964, at Sulphur. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1995 in Oklahoma City.
Survivors include companion and longtime friend, Henry James, four daughters, Lawanna Arnold, Ada; Romona Willis and husband William, Norman; Juanita Tatum and husband Jesse, Ada; and Quanna Alexander, Oklahoma City; Three sons, Melvin Alexander Sr., Ada; Alvin Alexander Sr. and wife Madelyn, Ada; and Marvin Alexander Sr. and wife Cheryl, Blanchard; seven sisters, Louise Marrs, Ada; Viola Jim, Shawnee, Charlene Vasquez, Ada, Norma Johnson, Oklahoma City; Irene Banks, Ada; Deloris Alexander, Midwest City; and Darlene Eckiuaudah, Cyrill; two brothers, Dean Walker, Dallas, Texas; and Bill Alexander, Amber; 19 grandchildren, Melvin Alexander Jr., Ladana Ahrens, Tracy Rieves, Stephanie Weiland, Marvin Alexandeer Jr., Erica Factor, Kandice Alexander, Crystal Tatum, Cody Tatum, Michael Alexander, Albert Alexander, Ashley Alexander, Jason Smith, Alvin Alexander Jr., Shawn Alexander, Cassandra Alexander, Diane Alexander, Christy Alexander and Rita Alexander; 40 great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Walker and Edwin Alexander; grandson, Jesse Tatum Jr., and a great-grandson, Daniel Lee Tatum.
Bearers are Cody Tatum, Albert Alexander, Alvin Alexander Jr., Chris Ahrens, Brad Weiland and Zach Rieves. Honorary bearers are Jesse Tatum Sr., Michael Markcum and Eugene Marrs Jr.
