Mr. Wilkerson passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home. He was born October 14, 1925 at Madill, Oklahoma to Hubert and Lora Wilkerson. He attended Madill school.

He married the love of his life, Peggy Lou Brown on January 17, 1948 in Ada. They cherished 64 years together until her death March 29, 2012. Jack left school following his 8th grade year to help support his family. Despite his limited education, Mr. Wilkerson found joy in serving his insurance customers with a smile working full time until his 86th birthday. He loved people and people loved him, hence his nickname “Smiley”. His work ethic, his kind heart and his devotion to his family encompass his legacy.

Earlier, he was a car salesman for Spann Motor Company, later Bob Morgan Ford, Bowie Ballard Ford, and then continued his profession as an insurance agent at Wilkerson-Chilcoat Agency. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Howard Wilkerson and wife Sheri, Ada; daughter, Brenda Ann Bevis and husband Gordon, Longview, TX; his grandchildren, Jon Wilkerson and wife Nikki, League City, TX, Sheena Chehresa and husband Kayvon, League City, TX, Garrett Day and wife Rachel and Griffin Day and wife Kate, all of Longview, TX; and his great-grandchildren, Jax and Lake Wilkerson and Braxton and Luke Chehresa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Nadine Walker.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the First Baptist Church, Bus or Music Ministries, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820; or Southwest Church of Christ Food Program, 505 W. 17th, Ada, OK 74820.

Due to the COVID Pandemic, the family understands if you are not able to attend.
