Joyce Murlene (Stokes) Wilcox

Joyce Murlene Wilcox was born June 13, 1933, to parents Ora and Murl Stokes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her son, Gary; brother, Bill (William) Stokes; and her sister, Imogene Wilburn. Services are scheduled at 11:00 Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Criswell Chapel; burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Joyce's early career began at a bank in Ada, and she always had a good mind for business and the best penmanship. She later helped to manage Oak Hills Golf & Country Club with her husband. Through the years she managed several rental properties and even opened a wine shop in Ada. Later she and Jim relocated to Palm Springs, working with Cardinal Promotions, owned with Jim and his brother Terry. But she always loved and returned to her home and dear friends in Ada.

Joyce had a great social life, enjoying tennis, golf, and bridge with friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain, creating beautiful buffets for friends and family to enjoy. She was very active throughout her life and always smartly dressed.

Joyce is survived by 2 grandchildren, Ryan J Wilcox of Santa Clarita, CA and Heather A Wilcox of Durham, NC; also, 2 great grandchildren, Lucas and Austin Wilcox (Ryan).
