Services for Johnny Edward Thompson, 74, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Ada First Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Dean Stone and nephews, Justin Presley and Rev. Jarrod Presley will officiate. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home. He was born November 13, 1946 in Ada to James “Dow” and Gladys Chaffin Thompson. He graduated from Byng High School in 1965.

He married Evelyn Standridge November 23, 1996. Mr. Thompson retired from Arkla Gas as a line technician, was in the US Army Reserve and active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of the home; a son, Sean Thompson and wife Cynthia, Waddell, AZ; step-son, Kevin Bowles, Ada; sister, Janice Presley and husband James, Byng; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Chris Bowles; sister, Naomi “Sister” Allison; and brother, Jim Thompson.

Bearers will be Larry Whisenhunt, Kevin Bowles, Jerry Duncan, Wayne Chronister, Mike Freeman and Chris Hice.
