Services for Douglas MacArthur Stewart 79, of Stonewall, OK are Mon, Nov 22nd @ 10am at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Bryan Harwell officiating ceremony w/ burial at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
Mr. Stewart passed away Monday, Nov 15th, 2021. He was born April 7th, 1942 to Homer and Nancy Ingram Stewart.
He graduated from Stonewall High School in 1960. He was employed at Wrangler as a Stenciler for 8 yrs., Kerr Pump as Machinist for 8 yrs., with the Chickasaw Nation Maintenance Dept in the Casino for 9 years and the Cabinet Shop for 9 yrs. He also owned his own Lawn Mowing business in Ada and the surrounding areas most of his life.
Survivors are 3 daughters: Diana Holland & husband Kevin, Ada, Kathy Stewart-Nicolai, Tampa, FL & Ginger Manuel, San Diego, CA; 5 grandchildren: Brandon Holland, Reagan Wilson, Taryn Nicolai, Alexander Nicolai and Caden Manuel; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 Sister, Carolyn Sue Mayes Green of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Eric Stewart, 1 granddaughter Siera Nicolai, 1 sister Mary Heck, 2 brothers Leamon and Carroll Stewart.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Koonce, Danny Strawn, Vance Nail, Ferman Traylor, Stonie Arterberry and Watson Wagon.
Mr. Stewart AKA "The Lawn Ranger", LOVED fishing, frog-gigging, pulling pranks, giving people a hard time, driving for hours enjoying the countryside peacefulness, and being with his grandkids. He worked hard all his life- and was even working a part-time job at the age of 78 until he moved into the nursing home 1 1/2 yrs. ago. His co-workers at the Chickasaw Nation are some of his closest friends and watched out for him like family. He was frequently doing things for others but never wanted attention or credit for his good deed.
