Services for Cody O’Neal Smith, 23, of Ada are at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 2nd at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Ada located at 15th and Ash St. The service will be officiated by Bobby Briggs. A private burial for family will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Cody O’Neal Smith passed away Thursday, April 25th in Ada. Cody was born August 2nd, 2000 to Melissa Thompson Smith and Jeffrey Smith in Ada. He graduated from Ada High School in 2019 where he played basketball for the Ada Cougars.
Cody attended ECU and then PTC to receive his electrical certification and was currently employed as an electrician apprentice for Action Electric of Ada.
Cody was an absolute joy to all that knew him. He had the most infectious smile that lightened the world around him. Cody was humble, loving and kind; which led to his greatest characteristic of having a servants heart. He enjoyed traveling to Northwest Arkansas to see his sister, Jordy, and the Colorado Rockies with his sister, Ally. He loved spending time with his family whether it was gardening, camping or being on the land with his mother. Cody was a devoted uncle to his nephew, Rylan who he adored.
He is survived by his mother, Melissa Smith of Ada; father, Jeffrey Smith and wife, Kristi of Wayne; sister, Jordy Owens and husband, Taylor Owens of Springdale, AR; sister, Ally McDaniel and husband, Brandon McDaniel of Ada; step-brother, Chase Parker; step-sister, Kylee Duff; nephew, Rylan McDaniel of Ada; grandmothers, Nancy Thompson and Susie Smith of Ada and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jerry Bob Thompson and John Wayne Smith; and cousin, Rachel Jean Thompson.
Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Josh Smith, Brandon McDaniel, Taylor Owens, Spencer Kilby and the 2017 - 2019 Ada Cougars Boys Basketball players and coaches.
