Services for Trillis “Francine” Simmons, 87, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mrs. Simmons passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Seminole. She was born October 24, 1936 in Citra, OK to Marvin Estell “Jack” Stowe and Velda Rena Nickell Stowe.

She attended Homer and Byng Schools. On March 28, 1953, she married Leon Allen Simmons. They were married 56 years until his death in 2010.

She accepted Christ as her Savior on her 12th birthday at Lovelady Baptist Church. She faithfully served Him as a member of Bible Baptist Church of Ada for over five decades. Her deep love for Jesus and children was evident in her dedication to teaching Sunday School, Good News Club, Junior Church, and Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also an active member of the choir and led the Women’s Prayer Group.

Her commitment to her family was unwavering, raising her children, grandchildren, and all those around her to love the Lord. She cherished being surrounded by her immediate and extended family, often coordinating large annual family reunions to strengthen family ties and pass down the oral history of her family to new generations.

Her life was a testament to hope, faith, love, and perseverance.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Oliver and beloved son-in-law, Dan; grandchildren, Mandy Simmons, Bryce Oliver, Brenda Cook, and Taryn Haney and husband, Josh Kindrick; great grandchildren, Devanee Harris and husband, Bryce Colton, Jace and Jaxon Cook; great great grandchild, Hagen Allen Harris; sister, Glenda Mae Ellison; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless children and adults that affectionately knew her as “Granny” as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband; son; sister, Joy Nell; brother, Billy Jack; and grandson-in-law, Val Cook.

Bearers are Bryce Oliver, Bryce Harris, Jace Cook, Billy Westmoreland, David Nickell, Steven Nickell, and Matthew Vogt. Honorary bearers are Dan Oliver, Mike Nickell, Larry Nickell, Phillip Dale Simmons, Jimmy Don Simmons, Ricky Joe Simmons, and David Haney.
