Services for Clive Rigsby, 79, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. David Fensler will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Rigsby passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home. He was born January 16, 1936 at Ada to Clive and Jewel Lea Rigsby. He graduated from Ada High School in 1954 and had played on the Ada Cougars Football State Championship team. He also attended East Central University.
He married Betty Lois Roper November 16, 1957 in Ada. Mr. Rigsby was employed with Boettcher Oil and Gas Company (a subsidiary of Ideal Cement) for 29 years. Later, he was employed with the Pontotoc County Vo-Tech. Mr. Rigsby was a longtime member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; mother-in-law, Lois Roper of Ada; his children, Chris Rigsby of Ada, Chad Rigsby and his wife Michele of Gordonville, TX and Cheneé Gary and her husband Scott of Edmond; five grandchildren, Timothy, Trevor, Emily, Graham and Macy; his best friend, Harriette McKnight; and cousins, Cherrie Lee Randall and Ernie Randall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roy “Butch” Rigsby and Clyde Rigsby.
Bearers will be Chad Rigsby, Timothy Teater, Chris Faulkner, Trevor Rigsby, Scott Gary, Chris Rigsby, Carl Allen and Graham Gary. Honorary bearers will be K. P. Hobbs, Harold Hawthorne, Bobby Johns and Elzie Priest.
