Services for Sara L. McDaniel, 91, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church. Rev. David Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at an Ada hospital. She was born July 28, 1923, in Ada to Aaron T. and Roy Irene Fagg Keltner. She graduated from Ada High School and East Central College.

She and Mitchell H. “Mickey” McDaniel were married Oct. 6, 1946. He died Feb. 18, 2004. She was registrar for the Pontotoc County Election Board and a long-time member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. McDaniel was an active participant in the Ada Community Theatre. Among her credits were “You Can’t Take It With You”, “Oklahoma”, “The King and I”, and a starring role in “Wildcat”. Mrs. McDaniel was also an accomplished pianist.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy McDaniel, Norman; her son, Mike McDaniel, Angels Camp, California; two granddaughters, Danielle McDaniel and Jessica Handgis; and one great-granddaughter, Lena Hendgis; a nephew, James Grisgby, New Iberia, LA; and two great nephews, Clark and Matt Grigsby.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Etta Grisby; her parents; and her husband Mickey.

Bearers will be Hicks Smith III, Bob Blanks, Duane Murray, Randy Taylor, Tom Cason and Jerry Snow. Honorary bearer will be Billy Bryan.
