Joseph Edward Lockwood

Joseph Edward Lockwood died June 13, 2014 in Wayne, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years 8 months 23 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell with Reverend Duane Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM, at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma under the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Joseph was born September 21, 1924 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Walter Hugh and Rachel (Cates) Lockwood. He was raised and attended school in Ringling. Joe married Helen Krantz on June 16, 1943. He worked installing Automatic Sprinkler Systems. He was a member of Local Union 669 and loved fishing. Joe was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Memorial Assembly of God Church in Purcell.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rachel Lockwood; step-mom, Clorene Lockwood; brother, Paul Lockwood; and sister, Melba Lockwood Sarratt. Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; sons, Jesse Lockwood and wife, Brenda, Johnny Lockwood and wife, Mary Ann, Jimmy Lockwood and wife, Stacey; brother, Jerry Lockwood; 6 grandchildren, Jess Lockwood, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Joey Lockwood and wife, Michelle, Justin Lockwood and wife, Christine, Bunny Lockwood, Shannon Lockwood, Cassie Lockwood; 12 great grandchildren, Lacy, Alec, Amber, Jake, Josiah, Shelby, Rachel, Chase, Dalton, Sean, Jimmy, Robbie; 2 great-great grandchildren, Ayden, Annabelle; nieces, Joanne DeArmond, Brenda Sarratt Harrelson, Jimmie Fowler; nephews, Walt Sarratt, Ronnie Sarratt; and numerous other relatives and friends.
