Dr. Jackson Dean Haraway passed away on September 4, 2024, in Fayetteville, AR, at the age of 95. Born on March 6, 1929, in Tulsa, OK, he lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his profession, and his faith.

“Jack” served honorably in the 180th Infantry of the 45th Division – Korean War. His military service reflected his deep commitment to his country and demonstrated the strength and resilience that would characterize his entire life.

Generous with his time and talents, Dr. Haraway volunteered countless hours serving the Ada Boys Club, Arbuckle Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 4, Ada Junior Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Dental Association Board of Governors, OU Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and Ada Rotary Club. Longtime members of The First Christian Church of Ada (Disciples of Christ), Jack and his wife Betty were very involved in this church community until their move to Fayetteville, AR in 2013.

Some of Dr. Haraway’s favorite pastimes were playing couples bridge with numerous Ada friends, watching OU football, gardening, and taking his grandchildren on outdoor adventures at the farm.
