Services for Ethelene Golden, 78, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Gary Caldwell will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Golden died Friday, May 28, 2010 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born September 4, 1931 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to Paul Ray and Velma Louene Lane Henderson. She attended schools in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Owl Creek, Lula and graduated from Latta High School.
She married Horace Hartwell Golden on September 3, 1950 at the Ahloso Baptist Church near Ada. She worked at CONVAIR aircraft in Ft. Worth, TX and retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 23 years of service. She was a wonderful mother who enjoyed ceramics, quilting and working in the flower garden of which she had many. She was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Golden, of the home; two sons, Gary Golden and wife Vickie, Ada, and Randy Golden and wife Diana, Ada; two daughters, Teresa Gruntorad and husband Roger, Lincoln, Nebraska and Carole Grigg and dear friend, Giles Terry, Ada; one sister, Jeraldine Carroll, Edmond; three brothers, Eugene Henderson and wife Joy, Ada, Jerry Henderson and wife Dean, Ada; and Don Henderson and wife Joanne, Stratford; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Ray and Velma Louene Henderson and one brother, Olan Henderson, Sr.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Brad Holman, Greg Duncan, Murray Golden, Ryan Collings, Tyler Schneider and Jared Nipps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Edna; his wife of 60 years, Ethelene; brothers, Mack Golden, Robert Golden, and Sonny Golden; sisters, Lolita Tucker and Lavena Morgan; grandson, Brad Holman; and granddaughter, Bethany Golden.
