Services for Betty Jo Ellis, 88, of Van Buren, AR, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Buck Cobley and Davey Ellis will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ellis passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Van Buren, AR. She was born August 18, 1930 at Carter’s Camp, Oklahoma to Marion Rueben and Lena Morgan Pearce. She and her family moved to this area in 1939 from Rush Springs. She attended grade school at Stonewall and Frisco and Pontotoc.

She married Harry Charles Ellis May 8, 1949 at Ada. Mrs. Ellis was a pantagraph operator for the U. S. Government. She was a Charter member of the Assembly of God Church in Bellflower, CA.

Survivors include her husband, Harry Ellis, of the home; her children, Lena Margarette Crawford, Rosa Sharon Yates, Carrie Joan Morrison and Harry Joe Ellis; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bobby Pearce of Ada.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Corona Jean Patterson in 2003; and three brothers, Gene Pearce, Johnny Pearce and Clifford Pearce.

Bearers will be Tom Patterson, David Johnson, Travis Johnson, Davey Ellis, Buck Cobley and Stephen Hall. Honorary bearers will be Gerald Crawford and David Morrison.
