James Allen Cranford

Services for James Allen Cranford are 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 at Criswell Funeral Home, Steve Wilburn will officiate.

Mr. Cranford, resident of Seminole, OK passed away at home on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the age of 82. He was born January 1, 1941 in Steedman, OK to Orville and Wilma Jean (Van Cleave) Cranford.

In 1961 at the roller skating rink in Ada, OK, he met the love of his life, Charlene Leonard. They were married for 48 years.

James worked for Blue Bell later VF Wrangler, for 47 years before retiring in 2009. He was nicknamed “Cranny” by his co-workers.

James loved family, fishing, boating, camping, Nascar, raising chickens and he enjoyed relaxing on the front porch watching traffic go by.

James or “Bear” to family, is survived by his daughter, Terrie Cranford, of Seminole; son, Robert Cranford, of Seminole; grandson, Tyler Cranford and wife Ayla, of Perry; four sisters, Wanda Ice, of Stonewall, Pat Holmes, of Stonewall, Edna Thompson and husband Carl, of Fittstown and Mary Stone and husband Tim, of Stonewall; and three brothers, Weldon Cranford and wife Barbara, of Ada, Bob Cranford and wife Ella, of Ahloso and Dewayne Cranford, of Stonewall.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene and his parents, Orville and Wilma Jean Cranford.

Bearers are Joseph Crawford, Scott Crawford, Matthew Floyd, Sean Floyd, Rodney Spivey, and Brion Smith. Honorary bearers are Gary LaFevers, Robert Theser, and Doc Perry.
