Services for Jimmy Harold “Jim” Conway, Sr., 84, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Ada, Father John D. Norvell will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Conway passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home. He was born August 1, 1931 at Wynnewood to Oliver Frank and Ollie Mary Nix Conway. He attended Dickson schools and graduated from Dickson High School in 1949. He attended Southeastern State University. Mr. Conway moved to Ada from Tishomingo in 1971.

He married Alma Jo Ramsey August 21, 1950. She preceded him in death October 17, 2004. He later married Voncille Mitchell Mcgehee on September 25, 2010. Mr. Conway was the Director of the Physical Plant at East Central University from 1972 until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Voncille, of the home; daughter, Vicki Harbert and her husband Luther of Tishomingo; a son, Jim Conway, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Norman; one brother, Bill Conway of Shawnee; four sisters, Mertie McKee, Farmers Branch, TX, Sharion Cooper, Bethany, Peggy Luckett, Guthrie and Martha Musgrove, Moore; his grandchildren, Jennifer Self and husband Byron and their children, Kenna and Blakelyn Self; Jeff Harbert and wife Krystle and their children, Cobyn and Cruz Harbert; Jamie and Lindsey Conway, John Luther and Katy Conway; and Ramsey Walcher and husband Daniel, and their son, Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Conway, Choc Conway and Shirl Conway; and a sister, DeLena Casady.

Bearers will be his grandsons: Jeff Harbert, Jamie Conway, John Luther Conway, Byron Self, Daniel Walcher, and nephews: Eric Conway and Rodney Caldwell.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the East Central Foundation, c/o East Central University, P. O. Box Y-8, Ada, OK 74821.
