Services for Rebecca “Becky” Cantrell, 91, formerly of Ada, will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Jerry Dickinson and Carl Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Cantrell passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Texas. She was born May 31, 1932, in Seminole, OK to William Edwin and Bessie Marie Burns Menasco. She was baptized into Christ on October 15, 1944, by Clarence Kessinger.

On September 19, 1950, she married the love of her life, Geoffrey Dale Cantrell, also, formerly of Ada. Mrs. Cantrell was a homemaker, spending much time following in her mother’s footsteps of tending not only to her family, but also to the needs of others. She diligently visited the aged and infirmed, and she was known for sharing her delicious baked goods with family, friends, doctors, and service providers. Her tasty treats will be sorely missed, as will her words of encouragement to the downhearted. She demonstrated all the aspects of a godly woman, as carefully taught by her mother. Her listening ear and sound advice served to uplift all who knew her. Even in her recent time being housebound, she found ways to encourage others through cards or texts or calls.

Survivors include her husband, Geoffrey, of the home; daughter, Lexie Barefoot and her husband, Allen; son, Randy Dale Cantrell and his wife, Rhonda; sister, Cindy Menasco Smith and her husband, Jimmie; grandchildren, Chad Smith, Kip Smith, Cullen Smith, Alex Barefoot, Phillip Barefoot, and Ryan Cantrell; and 14 great grandchildren. All those of the age of accountability are also members of the Lord’s Church, in large part due to the example and teaching of this loving mother and grandmother.

Bearers are Alex Barefoot, Phillip Barefoot, Chad Smith, Kip Smith, Cullen Smith, and Ryan Cantrell.

Found inside the cover of her Bible was this quote which represents how those who loved her feel at this time of loss:

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
