Services for Bobby Joe Canida, 63, of Center are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Center Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

He died Friday, August 24, 2018 in a Norman hospital. He was born January 17, 1955 in Ada to William F. and Kathleen “Snooks” Kirby Canida. He graduated from Ada High School.

He married Cathy Hunt on October 5, 1979. Mr. Canida was a land surveyor with Curtis and Guinn, and then went to work in the oilfield and finished his career with National Petrochem/REEF. He was affiliated with the Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an OU football fan.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy of the home; two daughters, Amanda McCarty and Deidre Gentry and husband Casey, both of Ada; two grandchildren, Lanie McCarty and Landrie McCarty; two sisters, Kay Perry and husband Kirk of Ada and Linda Caldwell of Del City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Canida and a niece, Shelley Harber.

Bearers will be Jackie Teel, Nathan Hunt, Mike Stokes, Chesston Lee, Stephen Caldwell, Thad Russell and Casey Gentry.
