Services for Marvin Lee Byers, 86, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. David Fensler will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Byers passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at an Ada hospital. He was born March 5, 1932 at Hickory, Oklahoma to H. G. and Susie Stidham Byers. He graduated from Hickory High School.

He married Barbara Jean Standifer May 25, 1956 at Hickory. Mr. Byers was employed with Ideal Cement (later Holcim), retiring after 39 years of service. He was a longtime member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Byers served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; a daughter, Bobbie Ellison of Ada; a son, Mike Byers and wife Kristi of Ada; four sisters, Betty Gentry and husband Jerry, Norman, Lois Huddleston and husband Richard, Ada, Linda Rodrigo, Ada and Donna Hampton and husband Hershel, Ada; a brother-in-law, Dwight Hart; three grandchildren, Kasey Ellison and Frankie, Kara Foran and husband Jake and Mark Byers and wife Kalley; and one great-grandson, Bryce Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, A. D. Byers; and a sister, Kate Hart.

Honorary bearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School class at Morris Memorial Baptist Church.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Morris Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 16121 CR 3540, Ada, OK 74820.
