Services for Bill V. Brumley, 91, of Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Elam officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Brumley died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. He was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Ada to Virgil Bryant and Mary Elizabeth Rushing Brumley. He attended Colbert and Byng schools and graduated from Byng. He enlisted in the United States Navy July 8, 1941. He was assigned to the USS Saratoga and the “Lucky Biloxi” seeing action in the Pacific theatre. He retired from Tinker Force Base in 1980. Mr. Brumley was a member of Aydelotte Baptist Church near Shawnee.

He and Emily P. Eberle were married Oct. 10, 1946. She died April 11, 2008, at Lexington.

Survivors include two daughters, Ramona Kay Wetherill and husband Rick, Ada, and Emma Lou Roberts and husband Mike, Pauls Valley; 11 grandchildren, Erin Wetherill, Ryan Wetherill, Megan Nevada Smith, Alison Flores, Heather Howard, Jennifer Callison, Hilary Sharp, William Bryant Brumley, Andrew Brumley, John Roberts and Jay Roberts; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bill V. Brumley Jr. and two sisters, Jo Lee Tipton and Dennis Faye Miller.
