Sherry (Coffey) Blanks

Graveside services for Sherry Coffey Blanks will be held at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada, OK at 2 pm on January 3, 2025. Bill Bailey will officiate. Sherry passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, after a year-long illness.

Sherry was the middle daughter of Walter and Ethel Coffey of Pauls Valley, OK, and a 1964 Graduate of Pauls Valley High School. She then graduated with a BA from East Central University, Ada, OK in 1968.

Sherry retired as President of Petroleum Equipment and Services Association, Houston, Texas. She was a contributor to the U.S. Department of Commerce NAFTA Negotiations and a founding Board Member of the Houston Independent School District Energy Academies. She was also on the Board of the World Trade Association and the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum in Galveston, Texas. Sherry conceived, created the curriculum and directed the annual Foreign Service Officers Energy Training Seminars for the U.S. Departments of State, Energy and Commerce. She was a member of the Petroleum Club of Houston.

Survivors include husband Bob Blanks; son C.B. Stephens, his wife Pamela and son Gus; younger sister Karen Manning; step-daughter Baylee Blanks Schmidt, her husband Tim and daughters Zoee and Monroe; step-son Marshall Blanks and fiancé Shannon Prendergast; step-daughter Bobbie Blanks and her daughter Miette Brock; step-daughter Betsy Blanks, her husband Cameron Miller and their son Everett; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ethel Coffey, her sister Betty Coffey Easley and brother-in-law Rick Manning.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
